Volunteers typically work a regularly scheduled 4-hour daytime shift once a week (Monday - Saturday). Evening and late afternoon assignments are available on a limited basis in specific assignment areas. All volunteers are required to attend a hospital orientation class, undergo a criminal background check, have an annual T.B. test and purchase one of several available uniform options.
Application Process
Adults and college students may apply by completing the volunteer application and returning to TMCP for processing at The Medical Center of Plano, Volunteer Services, 3901 West 15th Street, Plano, TX 75075. If you have any questions, please call (972) 519-1272 or e-mail Joni Fleming, Volunteer Coordinator, at joni.fleming@hcahealthcare.com. After your application has been processed, you will be invited to a Volunteer Services Introductory Meeting to learn about specific assignment openings.
High School and College Volunteer Applicants
Student volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to apply. All applicants (both teen and college) MUST be available for a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks during the summer break. We will begin accepting applications on March 7th with a deadline to submit applications by March 21st. If you are mailing your application in, it must be postmarked no later than March 21st. Instructions on how to submit your application are listed on this webpage. You may mail, fax or submit your application in person. Please note that positions are limited.
