Harris Named to Lead Hospital's Business Development Efforts

The Medical Center of Plano has announced that Ben Harris, a lifelong Plano resident, has been appointed to the post of Vice President of Business Development.
Harris, 32, took up his new duties on Monday, Nov. 14. He comes to The Medical Center of Plano from Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, where since 2001 he had been a member of the company's institutional sales force, specializing in the cardiovascular market segment.
Prior to joining Sanofi-Aventis, Harris worked for Xerox, Inc., and for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of the State of Texas.

"He's a great fit for us, and we’re confident that with his help we will continue to grow even stronger in our presence as a leader in technologically advanced medical care in North Texas."
Harris holds a bachelor's degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. A portion of his undergraduate coursework was completed at Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Harris has been active in public service, and currently serves on the Plano City Council in Place 2. He is a former chairman of the Leadership Plano Executive Board, former vice-chair of the city’s Parks and Recreation Planning Board, and has also been a member of the Board of Directors for the Plano Chamber of Commerce and Plano Youth Leadership. He is a graduate of Leadership Plano – Class 24.
He and his wife Abby, a fellow graduate of Plano Senior High School and a former teacher at Brinker Elementary School in the Plano ISD, are the parents of two young children – Lainey, 3, and Walker, 1.
Harris is the son of Allyn Harris, who served as the hospital's president and CEO from 1979 to 1995.
